Creamery & Market

Creamery & Market

Located in a small mountain town called Fraser in Colorado, the creamery and market was designed to welcome the user through an innovative experience to the cheese-making process and an out-of-the-box concept of a restaurant/bar and market.

The building is designed to have a tour throughout the creamery and market where the spaces and circuits have a close connection with the winter feelings of Fraser town and to the nature in its surroundings.

Exploring mass timber as an alternative to the traditional materials and with the concept of locally sourced wood, the envelope has insulated wood panels and the glass windows increase the heat gain during wintertime with movable sunblock elements.

To help with the tourism of the area, the concept of artisan cheesemaking helps supporting the local market and fighting the mass production of cheese. With this narrative, it was also developed an educational area that can be used for medium size events for Fraser town as a contribution for its population.
