The STOUFFVILLE JUNCTION is a restaurant that shows that history can make the dining experience even better. The adaptive-reuse design intends to give new life to a historical space with an inviting aesthetic and a modern twist.
The historical building from 1879 is located in the central region of Stouffville, a busy area with easy access to transit, and the commercial and residential surroundings are full of life throughout the day and night. The revitalization was completed in 2020, combining modern and heritage elements and preserving the building’s history with its original exposed brick walls and building elements. The building is an important historical piece and it introduces a new and welcoming setting for the community and its neighbors.
Originally built for the Mansion House Hotel by Elijah Miller next to the train station in Stouffville. This luxury hotel could accommodate 100 guests, had electricity and was lavishly decorated with red carpets and chandeliers.
The layout is very dynamic featuring fine-dining by prioritizing spacious and intimate seating. For a more casual dining space, a prominent bar area is incorporated along with a mix of booth and table seating, and a private dining space is available for corporate meetings, birthdays and events in general accommodating up to 16 guests.
The Front of House and service areas are laid out to ensure efficient circulation from the kitchen to delivery. Every aspect of the restaurant layout is crafted to enhance the diner's experience while maximizing operational efficiency. The dining is furnished with dining tables, chairs, bar stools, high tables, and booths, designed to facilitate a seamless flow from the entrance to seating areas, to restrooms, and service areas.
